Location
Kuah Jetty, where ferries arrive from the mainland, is about 1.5 kilometres away, a couple of minutes by car. Eagle Square (Dataran Lang), the giant reddish-brown eagle statue that has become the island's symbol, is around 1.5 kilometres too, an easy 15 to 20-minute walk along the waterfront.
Kuah's duty-free shops, malls and seafood restaurants are close, and the town's night market moves around on different evenings of the week. Several seafood restaurants are within a few minutes' walk of the motel.
Kuah isn't a beach town, but it's practical and good value. Island-hopping trips and boats to the Kilim mangroves can be arranged from here, and Pantai Cenang is about half an hour's drive across the island.
