Mr. Black Resort

Overview

Mr. Black Resort is about five minutes' walk from Haad Rin's beach, a straightforward base for the Full Moon Party that's calmer between parties. Rooms are air-conditioned and come with private balconies. There's a tour desk for trips, a minimart for supplies and a laundry service.

That combination makes it an easy, no-fuss choice: you can sort out boat tickets, snacks and clean clothes without leaving the building, and be on the sand within minutes.

Location

The resort is a few minutes from both Haad Rin's beach and its pier, with plenty of places to eat along the beachfront nearby.

Haad Rin sits on a narrow neck of land at the southern tip of Koh Phangan, with two beaches back to back: Haad Rin Nok, or Sunrise Beach, where the monthly Full Moon Party takes over the sand, and Haad Rin Nai, or Sunset Beach, which is much calmer. Between them is a small grid of streets packed with bars, cafés and shops.

Ferries and speedboats link Haad Rin pier with Koh Samui in well under an hour, and Thong Sala, the island's main town, is around 20 to 30 minutes by road. Quieter beaches such as Haad Yuan and Haad Thien are reachable by longtail boat.
