The Chic Patong

Overview

The Chic Patong is a modern small hotel on Rat-U-Thit 200 Pee Road, within walking distance of Patong Beach. Its rooms are air-conditioned and come with private balconies, flat-screen TVs, safes and mini-fridges, and Wi-Fi is free.

It's a sensible base for travellers who want to be close to Patong's beach and nightlife without paying for a big resort, and a balcony is a nice place to cool down after a day in the sun.

Location

The hotel lists Jungceylon shopping centre at about 1.2 km and Phuket Simon Cabaret at 2.8 km. Kalim Beach and the Patong Boxing Stadium are also close. Phuket airport is about 34 km away.

Rat-U-Thit 200 Pee Road runs parallel to the beach, a few streets back from the seafront, so it's quieter than Bangla Road but within walking distance of it. Bangla is Patong's famous walking street of bars and clubs, and it comes alive after dark.

Patong Beach itself is a long curve of sand with water sports and sunbeds. For a change of pace, Kalim's rocky shore to the north is good for sunset, Old Phuket Town's colourful Sino-Portuguese shophouses are about half an hour away, and boats leave for Phi Phi and Phang Nga Bay.
